La Ferme du Dozou: chalet holidays on an Aveyron farm:
If you like the simple thingsof the countryside , our chalets are made for you.
We welcome you to our farm , with animals, space, fresh air and a calm that will surprise you.
Here, you will feel like part of the family. You will enjoy our quality facilities, our private fishing lake , but also the surrounding area: the Marcillac valley and Conques , a medieval village classified among "the most beautiful villages in France", listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and classified as a "Grand Site de France".
Not forgetting Aveyron gastronomy.
Everything you need to spend a wonderful holiday in peace and quiet, enjoying the authenticity of Aveyron , the land of wide open spaces.
In our farm, no less than four hectares have been developed for tourist activity, in order to accommodate vacationers in maximum comfort.
Since we were not short of space, we spaced the chalets so that each family could maintain their privacy.
We have transformed an old farm building into a meeting room where you can come and go as you please, to take advantage of our facilities:
BilliardsTable footballToy library and libraryGymThis building is also booked by groups or families who come to celebrate an event, as it has a fully equipped kitchen. Perfect for family gatherings ! There's even an overhead projector and a Bluetooth speaker.
We have also fitted out a meeting room which can accommodate a company for a small seminar .
Everyone will find their favorite spot in the great outdoors, on the grass or by the water.
- the heated swimming pool from May to September;
- the private 1 hectare lake , with fishing pontoon. Boats and pedal boats are available. Life jackets are even provided.
- for children: play areas, a trampoline, pedal karts;
- a small football field;
- pétanque grounds;
- a basketball hoop.
Suffice to say that there is plenty to do on site.
There are also farm animals : sheep, heifers, donkeys, dwarf rabbits and pigs and also our dogs and cats.
The children love following Jean-Marc to the sheepfold to suckle a lamb and going out in a golf cart or quad bike to see the donkeys.
You have the choice between several accommodations , of different sizes and comforts. Although all ourAlthough some chalets have two bedrooms, their kitchens are not all equipped in the same way.
Our eight Mansois chalets are bioclimatic constructions on stilts and have large covered terraces overlooking the meadow.
The view is pleasant, and outdoor dining is a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather. The kitchen is fully equipped to make you feel at home: oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and ceramic hob. Internet access is via cable.
One of our Mansois chalets is accessible to people with disabilities (PRM).
Our three Ontario chalets are nestled in a thicket of large oak trees. Their terraces are covered and shaded.
Their unique feature: each of the two bedrooms has its own bathroom. An undeniable asset for couples of friends who want to enjoy hotel-like comfort.
The kitchen is also perfectly equipped, as in the Mansois chalets.
Our three Montana chalets are located below, under century-old chestnut trees, in a very peaceful setting.
From the terrace, you can observe our small flock of Ouessant sheep and goats, or the deer coming out of the woods.
They are equipped with a kitchenette with two hotplates, a microwave and a fridge/freezer.
Fishermen appreciate the closet for storing fishing rods.
The "Gîte du Coq" : 4 stars, with industrial decor. For those looking for slightly larger accommodations and who prefer a decor that combines raw iron and wood, we have converted this gîte into a former farmhouse.
It is composed of a single closed bedroom with a 160 cm bed and the rest of the beds are on the mezzanine: BZ and small high bed.
In winter, the pellet stove hums near the benches and armchairs. This is a characterful accommodation. where you will find roosters and hens in every room.
A private terrace with garden furniture and a large offset parasol allows you to enjoy our great outdoors.
Aveyron is a large green space, with contrasting landscapes, particularly popular with lovers of hiking , trail running , mountain biking , canoeing , rafting andclimbing .
Our territory of the Marcillac valley is full of hiking trails , but also beautiful villages to visit. Conques, 8 km away, is the pride of our entire region, as is the Marcillac vineyard in AOP
But there are also Belcastel, Estaing, Salles la Source, Bozouls and its canyon, the Lot Valley. A visit to Laguiole and the Aubrac plateaus is also a must.
Aveyron is known for Roquefort cheese and Laguiol knives.and the Millau Viaduct , but there are also so many other beautiful things to discover!
Breathtaking landscapes, red stones (pink sandstone) in the valley, white stones (limestone) on the causse, gray stones (schist) on the borders of Cantal: all this variety within a radius of 10 km from the gîte .
We are passionate about our region and we are keen to share our region that we love so much.
Moreover, a weekly outing is organized in July and August .
In our charming little village of Saint-Cyprien, an electric bike rental shop awaits you. There are also all kinds of shops, as well as craftsmen . One of them is known for his invention: luminography. A must-see!
Art is very present in our valley, from Marcillac to Conques: potters, painters, cutlers, weavers, leatherworkers, etc. all await you for a visit to their workshops.
You will not leave our region without having enjoyed our many specialties:
- Aligot and truffade
- The jokers
- Estofinade
- La Fouace, the sun, the scalded…
- The many delicatessen meats
- Local cheeses: Pérails, blue cheeses, Roquefort, Laguiole, etc.
In our holiday village , we organize a friendly weekly meal in the summer during which you can taste some of these specialties.
This rustic meal is a great moment of sharing, just like the welcome drink that takes place at the beginning of your stay. You'll get to know other vacationers, while your children can frolic near the playground with their new friends.
Moments of conviviality that no one forgets and that contribute to the success of your vacation. That's the atmosphere of a holiday village!
