History of Clé Des ChampsWhen I first visited in September 2016 the Clé des Champs, I had what I now call the “Wow” effect!…. I fell in love with the place and I remember the evening when I called Catherine, I told her “this is heavy stuff”! She came the following week and she too fell in love with the site. It is an old restored silkworm farm, located on a hill with a magnificent 360° view, quiet, well maintained a 3 ha wooded land and a little bohemian vegetation, a beautiful swimming pool, and finally a central village square, which gathers the restaurant, the bar, the animations and the boulodrome.
This wonderfully placed site away from the hustle and bustle in the summer is close to the most prized tourist sites (20′ from Vallon Pont d’Arc). We signed on mid-May 2017 and spent our first season with our “head in the sand” as they say, we had to learn and discover everything! In addition to a village of gites, there is a restaurant open to outside customers and a bar. We were accompanied for almost a month, but we were lucky to be able to count on the help of the former owners when necessary. At the end of the season, we were happy but I had still lost 8 kg. It’s been 1 year now, we thought the winter period would be quiet, but that was without counting the renovation, maintenance and beautification and we didn’t see the winter pass!
