In 1996, the village consisted of only three cottages and the pool. In 2001, three more were built, then three more in 2010, and finally five more in 2012. In 2016, we also opened the gîte du coq. Today in 2018, two unusual accommodations complete the choice: the perched hut l’Hirondelle and the floating hut Libellule. Little by little, the farm buildings have been renovated into a reception room, sanitary facilities and a sports room. Grandpa’s vegetable garden became a soccer field and a playground. The irrigation lake has become a recreational lake for fishing, walking, boating and pedal boating. Everything has been done with a lot of thought, in order to preserve our idyllic living environment and to bring more and more comfort to our vacationers.
The Plenecassagnes family is driven by a passion: to share the valley of Marcillac, its rougier, its vineyards and its microclimate. Conscious of living in a dream place, we like to share our village surrounded by hills and forests, as well as the animals of the farm: the heifers of Aubrac breed, the dogs of herds which make the spectacle for the biggest joy of the small ones and the large ones, the plants and the trees, in short, the quality of life in the countryside.
Joining Villages de Gîtes means for us not to be alone, to be able to share our problems with colleagues, to take the best that each of us can bring to the group and to exchange our good ideas. An emulation is created, pulling everyone up to bring quality to our tourist structures. It is also to share all this with our holidaymakers, to tell them that if they were satisfied with us, they can relive other beautiful experiences all over France with our colleagues.
We haven’t visited all the gîtes yet, but one of them seduced us in the Dordogne: the Hameau du Sentier des Sources. We love the interior decoration and the stone or wooden buildings.
Our oldest guests have already come 40 times: twice a year since we started in tourism. The prize for loyalty goes to them. They have become friends who welcomed us in Cannes. Others also made us discover their region: Brittany, Beaujolais, Lyon, Nancy, the Paris region, …. We visit all France in contact with holidaymakers and it’s great!
